PRINCE2® stands for Projects IN Controlled Environments. It is a fully scale-able process driven method for project management. Although PRINCE2® originated in the UK it has become a world-class international product.

This foundation course covers all of the official syllabus, which includes the following elements:

The course will help you to: –

• Understand the most common agile approaches – SCRUM, Kanban and Lean
• Decide whether or not to apply agile to a particular project (and how much!)
• Map the PRINCE2 management roles with common agile delivery roles
• Understand how to structure a PRINCE2 agile project team, with particular focus on the Project Manager and Team Manager / Delivery Team interface
• Understand how to apply the six target / tolerance areas in an agile way
• Understand the 5 recommended focus areas for PRINCE2 agile®
• Learn new agile techniques, such as retrospectives, sprints and
• Study the principles and values of PRINCE2 agile®
• Apply the PRINCE2 themes and processes in an agile way

A common concern with eLearning is that you will be un-supported as a learner.  With our courses this is not so.  Not only will you be able to see questions asked by previous learners through subject forums, but you will be able to directly message the trainer if you are stuck or don’t understand something.  Trainers will respond to your question(s) within 24 hours, but usually much quicker.

PRINCE2® Foundation & Practitioner Exams

Although this option does not include the official foundation exam, here is some information about it in case you wish to upgrade later.

Foundation Exam

• Multiple Choice 75 questions (5 of the questions are for trial and feedback purposes and do not carry a mark)
• 35 marks or more required to pass (out of 70 available marks) – 50%
• The foundation exam is a 1 hour closed book examination.
• Qualification valid for life

Practitioner Exam

• Objective Multiple Choice
• 8 questions – 10 question items per question, each worth one mark
• 44 marks or more required to pass (out of 80 available) – 55%
• Two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes) duration, no additional reading time
• Open book exam (official PRINCE2® manual only)
• 2009 Qualification Valid for 5 years

PRINCE2 Agile® Exams

Although this option does not include the official foundation exam, here is some information about it in case you wish to upgrade later.

• Objective Test Multiple Choice 50 question (5 question groups on the paper with 10 sub-questions in each)
• 30 marks or more required to pass (out of 50 available marks) – 60%
• Two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes) duration.
• “Open Book”, which means that you can reference the official PRINCE2 agile® manual during the exam, but no other reference material is permitted.
• This exam tests if you can tailor and apply your learnings using a simple scenario.
• Once passed valid for 5 years

Examination Methods & Bookings

ELearning course examinations are conducted on your computer via a remote proctoring service.  Click here for detailed information about this service.

When you purchase a remote proctored exam with us you will receive an email with a voucher code and a link to use the code to make your exam booking when you feel ready to actually book the exam.   Remote proctored exams can be taken at a date / time to suit you including evenings and week-ends, but please note that we need 10 days’ notice to book the proctored service.

Exam Voucher / Booking

If you upgrade and go on to purchase an exam you will be sent an email with a voucher code and a link to use the code to make your booking.  The exam is run through our Examination Institute (PeopleCert) remote ProctorU service.  You can  book your exam for a time and day of your choosing including weekends and evenings, but you need to give 10 days notice of when this is.  Withn 24 hours of booking your exam you will receive a confirmation email asking you to resister on the PeopleCert (Exam Institute) website before for your exam takes place.

Please note that you need to redeem your voucher (book your exam) within the expiry date of 180 days from date of purchase.

Special Dispensations

There are some conditions (such as dyslexia) that qualify for extra time in the examinations. If you think you may qualify for extra time please let us know when you book your exam.
Please note that you will need to provide documentary evidence of the condition to qualify for extra time and give us 20 days’ notice of your booking.

Exam Hints / Tips

Many people are understandably nervous when taking an exam.   We offer the ProctorU service because it is real-time remote proctoring which minimises the risk of administrative issues during the exam.  Furthermore, our courses are fully accredited and cover the appropriate syllabus.  We also have guidance providing you with detailed hints and tips regarding exam techniques.
