This course is designed to help those wishing to refresh their PRINCE2® Practitioner Level knowledge so they are ready for taking the online PRINCE2® Practitioner Re-registration Examination.  Please note that to take a re-registration exam you must have previously passed both PRINCE2 foundation and practitioner level qualifications, and the practitioner pass must be within 5 years of actually taking the re-registration exam.

PRINCE2® was originally developed in 1989 to address the issues that were commonly causing UK government IT projects to fail. Since then the method has undergone a couple of re-writes to take account of feedback from its practical use and to bring it in line with other AXELOS methods. The current version was released in 2009 and is used internationally. Re-registration is about retaining the Practitioner level qualification, which tests how much of the method learners have absorbed by testing its use within a scenario situation. The re-registration exam is in the same style as for practitioner, it is just shorter in duration (1 hour instead of 2.5 hours and you answer on 3 topics isntead of 8).

Balance Global’s PRINCE2® eLearning Re-Registration course is accredited by the PeopleCert (exam institute), ensuring that delegates receive a consistently high standard of training. The course is presented by our lead PRINCE2® trainer (rather than an actor) to ensuring the best possible experience for our learners. Although this is an eLearning course – we still cater for different learning styles:

  • Visual Learners – through good visual presentation, mind maps and colour coding of key points
  • Auditory Learners – through clear voice-overs, delivered by our lead PRINCE2® trainer, ensuring emphasis in the right places. Deaf learners will be able to see a full transcript of the audio files.
  • Kinaesthetic Learners – through embedded exercises and interactive trainer support

The course materials are regularly reviewed and kept in-line with the syllabus as set by AXELOS (the method’s owner). This Re-registration Exam has been designed for use with the Official PRINCE2 Manual and provides you with everything you need to prepare and sit an official PRINCE2 Practitioner Re-registration exam. PRINCE2® Re-registration Exam

The PRINCE2® Examination Board has determined that all PRINCE2® Practitioners must be re-registered within 3-5 calendar years of their original certification (failure to pass the Re-registration Examination after 5 calendar years as a Registered Practitioner will result in withdrawal of your registered status). This Re-Registration comprises a 1-hour examination set at the same standard as the Practitioner examination. If you have taken the PRINCE2® Practitioner certification since October 2000 you have agreed, or are agreeing, to this requirement as part of your initial application and are now designated as Registered Practitioners.

Re-Registration Examination Format

Objective testing

  • 3 questions – 10 question items per question, each worth one mark
  • 17 marks or more required to pass (out of 30 available) – 55%
  • 1 hour (60 minute) duration, no additional reading time
  • Open book exam (official PRINCE2® manual only).

Preparing for an Exam

Do not sit the exam before you’re ready and feel confident. We recommend that you should only consider taking the exam when you have achieved the following:-

  • Worked through all the course sections and units at least once
  • You complete all the exam simulator tests and achieve a repeatable score of 55% and above.

Don’t feel nervous about the exam process. Unlike many competitors when you sit the exam, you will be connected to a live person (not an automated system) who will be there to guide you through the process and assist you with any technical issues.

Course Reviews

  1. This course was a great PRINCE2 refresher to help me prepare for my re-registration exam. Lots of exam hints and tips and I found the interactive exercises really helpful. It was good that full length practice practitioner exams were included in this course so there was more to practice on than with the shorter re-registration exams.

Didn’t realise how rusty I’d got since first taking my Prince2 practitioner qualification. Don’t think I’d have passed re-registration exam without the help of this course.
