PRINCE2 Foundation Online Elearning Only

Interactive self paced eLearning course

Anyone who has to work within a project environment and needs to understand the structure and terminology of PRINCE2® will benefit from foundation training. The foundation level qualification tests how much of the method learners have absorbed.

Balance Global’s PRINCE2® elearning foundation course is accredited by the PeopleCert (exam institute), ensuring that delegates receive a consistently high standard of training. The course is presented by our lead PRINCE2® trainer (rather than an actor) to ensuring the best possible experience for our learners. Although this is an elearning course – we still cater for different learning styles:

    • Visual Learners – through good visual presentation, mind maps and colour coding of key points
    • Auditory Learners – through clear voice-overs, delivered by our lead PRINCE2® trainer, ensuring emphasis in the right places. Dea learners will be able to see a full transcript of the audio files.
    • Kinesthetic Learners – through embedded exercises and interactive trainer support
The course materials are regularly reviewed and kept in-line with the syllabus as set by AXELOS (the method’s owner). The course draws on the current official manual “Managing Successful Projects using PRINCE2®” 2009 edition.

This foundation course has been designed for use with or without an official manual and provides you with everything you need to prepare for an official exam and start using the method, including:

    • Interactive trainer support – through forums, direct messaging and webinar sessions
    • Databank of 300 practice foundation style questions
    • Timed exam simulator, with 2 ‘mock’ foundation exams
    • FREE downloadable revision tablet ‘app’ for off-line working
    • FREE downloadable mock papers
    • Resource Centre with FREE downloadable templates for project documentation
    • Interactive exercises to embed learning
    • NEW EXTENDED 180 days course access
    • Glossary of terms
    • FREE downloadable Balance Global course completion certificate
    • FREE downloadable ‘high achievement’ certificate if you obtain over 70% in tests

There are no pre-requisites for this course and it can be completed in 12 hours, but many learners like to re-play some of the lessons a number of times to embed their learning. This time frame does not include reading of the official PRINCE2® manual (if you have purchased one separately) or all of the additional resource material provided.

PRINCE2® was originally developed in 1989 to address the issues that were commonly causing UK government IT projects to fail. Since then the method has undergone a couple of re-writes to take account of feedback from its practical use and to bring it in line with other AXELOS methods. The current version was released in 2009 and is used internationally.

NOTE: this option is for the foundation eLearning course only and does not include the official exam. However, there are easy upgrates routes should you wish to purchase an official examination or progress to practitioner level after you have completed the course.

I work in project office (not a project manager – yet) – but want to go that way. This course helped me understand in more detail what project manages have to do. Hopefully it’ll help me get to the next level.

    2. Profile photo of Mary Pool Mary Pool says:

I really wasn’t sure if e-Learning was going to suit me before buying this course. I would still prefer to be in a classroom because I like to ask the trainer questions – but couldn’t take the time off work. Having said that – this is a good second best & there seemed to be a lot of help available if I needed it (which I didn’t).

Balance Global’s process model is a ‘life saver’ – don’t think I would have understood how PRINCE2 fits together without it!

    4. Profile photo of Elvira Elvira says:

I had heard that PRINCE2 is pretty complicated to understand, but this foundation course made it easy! Lots of diagrams and easy to understand examples meant I could relate to it really well. Just wish I’d bought the package with exams included!
